19 Hours

I got a message of Josh this morning saying we ended up doing a total of around 19 hours of vocal pre-production on the weekend haha. We had to write lyrics and arrange vocal parts, we got stuck a few times and got drunk in between but we got it all done in the end.

Next week we start recording drums properly with a real drummer, instead of a drum machine haha. I'm really looking forward to how it's going to sound with a natural drum sound. All the songs are finished being written except for a few little things that need to be added here and there. I couldn't be happier with how they are.

Random thoughts

When it comes to writing a cd and making sure I'm happy with it, i think way too much.

I have several songs I will be recording within the coming month. So far all that is up on the myspace at the moment is a little sample of what only two of the songs will sound like. It going to be a collaboration of songs I have written over the past months ranging from ambient/rock/metal styles.

The majority of the songs were all written solely for Inhale The Sea, although I have chosen to record a very "Strident Discord" track which was written for them when we were writing for a 2008 demo. At the moment I don't really know how the describe the rest of the tracks. Over the entirety of the songs there's elements of metal, rock, acoustic, blues and ambience.

Only a few weeks till we plan on starting recording and i'm getting fair excited, mainly to make it sound as good as we can and not fuck it up.

Pre-production

I have done some real rough demo's for the songs I am going to be recording for the Inhale The Sea cd. I'm just at the stage of writing lyrics for the songs; also just organising dates and places to record at. I will be recording these songs with Josh Sullivan, who recorded the Strident Discord EP.

Recording will probably commence within 2-3 weeks if it goes to plan. A few of my good friends will be playing on the cd due to me not being able to play drums good or sing. Jackson has offered to play drums for it which is great because i don't know who else i would get. Hopefully Inhale The Sea will be able to get a full line up by the end of it.

This is about all at the moment. I can't wait to get these songs recorded.
